Our family met Ms. Mina when she began teaching at Yamaha Music School of Boston many years ago. Even though our children did not have her for group classes, we had the good fortune of having her for their private lessons. Ms. Mina is a truly classically trained musician. She is organized, punctual and patient. Her teaching method is not one size fits all. Very much like Confucious, she adjusts to the students according to where they are. She designs the yearly repertoire to meet the students’ levels of maturity with different music genres. Most noticeable trademarks of Ms. Mina’s students’ performances are her musicality. She does not just teach her students the notes on the page, but guides them with musical ideals that reflect on their playing. Ms. Mina has been an amazing teacher to me. She is an incredibly talented musician who has built up my ability to play piano with emotion and accuracy for almost ten years. Her way of teaching adapts to accommodate all students of various ages so she can motivate them to enjoy practicing piano consistently. Through her teachings, Ms. Mina has trained my ear to recognize nuances and has helped me strike a balance between staying true to the score while allowing room for my own interpretation of the music.
